Temporary Closure Notice

The Vancouver Chan Meditation Centre (VCMC), in solidarity and alignment with recent policies from the B.C. Ministry of Health, has decided to close all functions for the foreseeable future. During this crisis of the past few weeks, we made efforts to keep the centre open for people to maintain their practice.  The most recent special event was our very first half-day retreat held on Saturday, March 14th. We had five people attending the event and all were happy about it. We hope to hold this event more regularly
in the future.

When the situation improves, we would like to restore regular activities. This is not likely to happen before the end of March. We advise everyone to monitor the VCMC website or our Facebook page for updates beyond then.

We also encourage all practitioners, be they new or experienced, to take this opportunity to commit to their meditation in whatever way they can. The circumstances we are living in call out for calm, rational mindfulness and compassion – for pragmatic purposes as much as peace-of-mind.

Thank you. We appreciate your understanding and support in maintaining a safe and healthy world.

May all beings be free from fear and anxiety.
May all beings be healthy and safe.
May I be gentle and kind with myself and others .
